Downtown Shell Knob MO Come Visit!
Baby on side? baby inside? nobaby? Quality of fence?, distance from neigbors? A dry cow could survive on less than 15lbs a day but not if she is milking or trying to calve, and she will more than likely lose at least a pound a day, and you will def start having some lay down and go into a very deep sleep (a forever sleep) if it gets real cold and windy. If your goal is to keep her at current condition then over 20lbs is usually a pretty good figure. Of course with another energy source as long as its not high in starch, her insides should ruminate just fine and "make those turds" with under 15lbs of forage a day.
