| A little stress on gilts may help to bring them into heat like SWIA says. Another thing that I found over the years is to take the gilts to the boar instead of bringing the boar to the gilts. The boar will pay a lot more attention to the gilts in his pen. (he won't be looking over the new surroundings in the gilt pen) I also waited for the second cycle mainly because for the price of some of the semen you get nowadays I wanted to make SURE that I didn't miss the heat cycle.
