Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | Sent an odd bunch of steers down to the sale Sat. Nice black calves, just had a few. 8 weights went $1.39 and the 850-900 were $1.29. Was very surprised, one that they brought that much, and that they were that big. Just weaned calves. Not bragging about the price, I'm kind of amazed. Lot of grass down south that they need to stock as well, probably bring price up locally. Had one big cow I culled out as well, she only brought $0.59, but she weighed 1700lbs... still not a bad check and she is off the feed rolls.
Have a few real nice heifers I'd like to sell, but no one seems interested in nice commercial replacements right now. Feeder sale is on Sat, and at that price I'm going to haul them down there if they don't sell first. | |
