Subject: RE: More hog confinement talk.. Pressure washers

Spent most of my teen years power washing in a 1000 sow farrow to finish operation, not sure what model we used but they are generally finicky and broke down quite often, machines had propane boilers and water would exit wand boiling, many times you'd see no more then 5 feet ahead of you, very much of a sauna experience, specially in the summer...never used sprinkler system but we used to wet down surface an hour before and that would make huge difference, sometimes when machines were down they would skip cleaning a weeks worth of farrowing crates however the piglets would develop scours quite heavily just from exposure to unclean crates, I suppose it's debatable weather the hot water contributes to heightened sanitation level with regards to killing off disease and bacteria.
