Subject: Re: pellet stoves

I have had a a whitfield for about 6 years and have heated my 2000 Sq. ft. home with it. I have it on a programmable thermostat so it turns on and off itself all I do is put pellets in it. I clean it about once every 2-3 weeks . takes about 10 minutes. I have a huge ashpot and dump it about once a year. I do a thorough cleaning before I start it for the first time every fall.
Does a great job. I have only had to replace the hot rod and an over heat sensor in 5 years. wood pellets are pretty cheap here since they are made about 15 miles from me. I burn about 2 ton a year. I think about $196 /ton
