Subject: Re: Which Fridge to get?

Being my wife is a caterer our situation is a little different than most. For personal use we have a large side by side. For the catering she has two regular refrigs w/o freezers, a double door refrig with freezer drawr on bottom, a upright freezer & a chest freezer. These are all home models, not commercial units.

She really likes the double door refrig . Lots of room , easy to get stuff into & out of, and easy to see what's on the shelves. The freezer drawer is split in the middle into two compartments with one compartment having a sliding basket. Basket is as deep as the drawer & when the drawer slides out the basket rolls back into the space it came from for easy access to whats below. With the basket & divider it makes it easy to keep things in order & easy to find. As for the freezers, the upright is easier to find things in & get things out. Chest holds more for the size & cn hold bigger items but harder o find if what you want is on the bottom.

As far as the side by side, we both hate it. Shelves are narrow & deep making things in back hard to see. It's a Jen-air, like all the other appliances in our kitchen & we'll never buy another Jen-air product. Have had lot's of problems with them & company's attitude sucks. The two regular cater refrigs are Woods & the double door is Whirlpool & we've had good luck with them. One of the Woods is over 15 yrs old & the other is at least 10 & never have had either worked on.
