Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot | I usually haul mine, just too many ditches and highways to cross to walk mine home. Usually help some neighbors trail theirs home, wait till they are a little hungry, feed them off a pickup for a few days, then use that same pickup with a few bales of hay on it to lead them home. We don't have a corral at any pasture. Just a fence that makes a corner with a gate on it. Open the gate outward and back the trailer up to end of that gate. Throw a portable panel from the other corner of the trailer to the other side of the fence where the gate would latch, one more panel wired to one post to close up the 'pen' when the cows get in it. Cows can easily jump into a gooseneck trailer.
For that few cows should be all that is required. Seen guys get by with less, but usually on horseback or good dogs. | |
