Would depend on when your grass comes . Here not till the first of May . 90 days is to close might as well raise bumm calves . 120 way more better all ready have creep feeder out with a free chioce ration . Pull the trigger on weaning the first of September .Do your cow work and can hit a higher market with your dry cows , Do your preconditioning with the calves on the moms way less stress . It's basicly Bud Williams late calving stratagy . It's not so much saving in the summer as saving in the winter . For us it wouldn't work well , That's right the middle of harvest ,no way to drop everything to watch stressed calves . How many head are you planning on doing if you want to run 30 head and micro manage them and have time to do it ,get after it.
