High Springs, Florida | I had a similar situation happen on our property about 6 years ago. Wife saw/heard some guys shooting squirrels about 30 feet from our pastured horses. She went down to the pasture and told them to quit shooting they were scaring the horses. One of the guys said, "I'll show you how to scare those f*****g horses!" and fired 5 shots above her head. I just happened to be looking out the back door when this happened. I was infuriated and ran out the door. (unarmed) I jumped the fence on to the property next door and ran over to the shooter, who had just put his gun in his car. He came at me and said, well, I can't print it. Anyhow we had words and I called the Sheriff after he left, and they showed up and took a report.
In the end the perps were charged with some minor offence like "mishandling of a firearm" or some such thing and got 6 months probation. | |
