Eleva, WI | We use a roto grind GG10 for all our corn grinding. It's been a while since we've ground dry corn. Usually we do high-moisture in the fall like you must. I think it did a pretty good job of grinding dry corn, much better than our roller mill ever did on any corn. We did have trouble griding barley, it didn't actually gridn the kernel, just took the hull off, but I think our hammers need to be flipped as they are worn. Normally in high moisture corn we move the first few shear plates out some to gain capacity and because it gets fine enough anyway. For oats we move them in tight and it pulverizes the oats.
The rotogrind grinders do take a lot of horsepower as you want to maintain a high rpm for the best grind. | |
