Freeburg, IL | The southern half of the southern 1/3 of the state is struggling. I looked at some terrible looking fields down around Sparta, Cutler, Pinckneyville, DeSoto, Carbondale. A friend near Metropolis tells me they'll do average. There are 100 bushel corn fields within 15-20 miles of Mascoutah, too.
There is some very good corn in the southern part of IL, but there is a fair amount that isn't very good, too. | |
