| Very simple fundamentals at work here. This corn crop is ALOT smaller than ANYBODY ever thought could happen . As I said 45 days ago '$4.75-$5.00 by harvest is a given' . I am going to miss this idea by a buck in my opinion. We all now know that Illinois corn sucks. My average over 2500 acres harvested so far is 148 bpa., on 200bpa central Illinois prime farmland. NOW the scary news {if you are an end user}....Iowa,Neb.,Ind are going to be way off on their yields also. My biggest mistake in protecting against this runaway corn market was buying the calls too far out of the money. Great coverage though. After hearing the yields coming in from other states watch for corn to run to $5.50 sooner than later. | |
