Subject: Re: bread unwrapping

middle TN
I was looking at an old 550 spike tooth that I bought for the engine as the parts source. I have already gone too far with dismantling it to try it as-is. I think the spike tooth cylinder would break the bags, just don't know if the plastic would wrap as well. I was thinking of using the cylinder, along with something like a trommel( Kinda like a grain cleaner) that would tumble the product up an incline, with air moving the plastic farther into another conveyor or container, and the bread being heavier falling in a shorter distance. I am still looking for some kind of tumbler or trommel. I think the plastic would snag on the walkers too bad to use that. I have seen similar looking tumblers in use in a green bean packing shed once, just have to keep my eyes open for something like what I have in mind in someones junk pile. I hadn't thought about a husking bed, we never had one on the pickers we ran. I will have to see if I can find one and give it a look. Thanks for the suggestions!

Jared
