SE/SC Nebr.

Stand count excellent.  31 to 32,000.  Same as last year.

Nitrogen O.K.  No excessive spring rains.

Same potential.  It just depends on how hot it gets and how cool it is at night.  Hot nights and the corn has to use it's sugar to cool itself instead of making corn. We have irrigation, no dry land.

The dry land corn here still looks good, but if no rain for 2 weeks it could loose 1/4 to 1/3 of it's yield.

Lincoln, NE had 2 inches last night, making it 4 inches for the month of July.  Corn looked good driving back to Deshler.  Rain stopped about 15 miles east of Bruning on Hwy 4 and on to the west.  No rain for us last night.

Just finished my second irrigation on 2 different fields of corn.  Just one on the other field of corn, but will get second irr. this week.

Giving my beans their first irrigation as they are starting to wilt and they are flowering.
