Owosso MI
Cause dairy guys have their money wrapped up in their milking operations and beef guys are wrapped up in the feeding expenses.

We used to have bunks for all our cattle beef and dairy alike...we found that taking the bunks off the feed line gave the cows a better ability to feed and reach through the feed. However, it increases our man hours by someone having to push it back into the place for cows to feed.

One part that I prefer to the bunks was cleaning the flat apron was much easier with the tractor than shoveling the bunk by hand. It could take better part of an hour to shovel 500 ft of bunk and now takes less than 30 secs with the skid loader. I also think that the apron(if done right) allows for less spoilage and less damage from water if fed out side.
