| I think everyone has given you some good advice. I would confront the logger immeadiatley to let them know they have cut trees on your property. Most states have ample laws on the books to protect property owners. It might have been a innocent mistake so don't jump to conclusions. Depending on the age of the trees, type and quality you might be owed some real money, espically if you have any veneer grade logs. Make sure you can prove your property line with map, survey, markings etc. I would invest a few hundred dollars in a certified forestor to come and appraise the damage. As said earler, the stumps can determine what the value of the trees were. In most states the damages are 2-3 times the value of the trees so loggers know what the consequences are when they go over the line. Don't delay doing since you know there is a problem. Confront them while they are sill on site. | |
