The neighbors property recently sold. Loggers are cutting and removing timber from the newly acquired property. Problem is they cut three trees on my small portion (1-2 acres) of the woodlands. They actually pulled the logs out on my side of the old fenceline. The fence is dilapidated and neglected but recognizable and runs down to a straight drainage ditch which marks the rest of the property line. I have no idea what a 30 inch log is worth nor is that my primary concern. What kind of value do you put on your best woodland trees that took 50 years to grow? My wife said call the sheriff but I don't want to do that unless a reasonable solution can not be agreed upon. Question is.... What is a reasonable solution? All I know is I've had irrepairable damage done and I'm not a happy about it. Any suggestions? Thanks. Dan |
