Subject: RE: cpvc or copper or pex

Southeast Iowa
One of our neighbors has had to replace their upstairs carpeting TWICE because a pex line blew out when the water heater built up too much pressure while nobody was home and the extra pressure could not go back into the water main of our Rural Water system because of a check valve. We had exactly the same thing happen at our church with cpvc plumbing....which has NO PLACE in an industrial application IMHO. I'm strictly a copper guy; can solder it leak-free, every time, in unbelieveable places on remodeling projects, and never have to worry about a blow-out. Copper makes for a nice job and looks good when you get done. Now for SEWER lines, there is no decision to make; it's white pvc all the way. ( ;)
