| Well I guess this old retired custom harvester will have to set the record straight on this thread. First let me say I have always cut corn, cut beans, and cut wheat, that’s the only way. Couple comments for you guys that shell corn; You really should get your corn head adjusted right before you go to the field if you are having problems shelling, or this question also comes to mind, how in the world can you shell it without cutting it first. Running beans? I’ve seen a lot of that but never done it myself. I’m too old for that, but most years when I cut beans I see a lot of it going on with rabbits, raccoons, opossums, skunks , that can get ugly sometimes. Then there is the occasional coyote that likes to run down the bean rows chasing a rabbit. | |
