Subject: Re: Do you combine or shell corn?

At home in south central Wisconsin we: shell corn, combine beans, cut hay, mow the lawn, use a digger for tillage, cultivate the corn, drill soybeans and plant corn. When I fielded snap beans in Havana and Gladstone, IL they: picked corn (I had this vision of many uni's going across the fields), cut beans, mowed hay, plowed beans (cultivated, you should have seen my response the first time a grower told me they were going to plow their beans), ran the field cultivator and everything was a "harrow" (disk, drag, field cultivator). I still find myself saying "cutting beans" from time to time.
