Because reminiscing of the good ol days when you could trade a dozen chickens a goat and a fresh heifer for 40 acres isn’t annoying at all? I’d much rather the younger generation learn from experience by either listening or watching than how, back in my day i lost this here finger from frost bite because I had to walk up hill both ways to school in below zero temps, and using my coat and mittens to keep overpriced eggs from freezing.
  


Isn't that what I said? That's what I meant, anyway. Yes, sometimes there is a little extra "stuff" in the telling of the old times, but just gotta look past that. I always figure it makes us appreciate the way things are now, when thinking about how they did it back then.
