East Central South Dakota | Thats funny you posted about hogs. I had a couple of lines in my original post using hogs as an analogy and then erased it out. When I graduated from SDSU in 1984 we raised hogs in every building we had that was "hog tight". Anything above 240 pounds was a discount and now anything less than 280 is not desirable. I just can't imagine how destructive a 280-pound butcher would be to a facility and how hard a load out must be. 280-pound pig would destroy our hillbilly hog facilities---definitely would make them not "hog tight". Times really change fast. |
