East of Broken Bow | When my mom passed away, we sent some of the flowers from her funeral service to be made into candles.
I really don't know how to explain it, but they put the actual flower petals into a (mostly) clear candle wax, so we have memorials. It has been 18years now, and the candles still look nice, just an occasional dusting.
The funeral home suggested getting 2 candles made for my dad, one that he can light for a while to remember mom in times like her birthday, anniversary, etc., and a second that we will light at his funeral to commemorate them meeting again.
Not sure where they were done or by whom, the funeral home made all the arrangements.
2 candles for Dad, and one for all us kids. At the time it seemed a bit cheesy, but all these years later, it is still something we have to remember her by. | |
