Doubling the payments on a house the last two years is going to leave a huge mark. That's why there's a housing crisis and new borrowers can't afford a house and people that already have a house aren't going to sell or move because if they get the same value house their mortgage will double. People are not moving up so there is little cheaper housing for young people to buy.
