I think some sectors/households/businesses are on the edge of crumbling. I think velocity is slowing, I think buying to just buy because things are going to be more expensive in six months has stopped. So, a .75% decrease in interest rates would be enough to ease some concern yet not enough to fuel inflation. A small rate cut would show that inflation has been managed and give some confidence to borrowers.
