My take-a-way is that different things work for different people. However, it seems everyone agrees that simply internalizing sorrow and grief -- and trudging through life unhappy -- is not the solution.
For me, when I am down, the very worst thing I can do is sit and dwell on the negative. Getting up and doing things, meeting with people, exercising, thinking positive, praying, counting blessings, etc. all have helped me over the years. When it is hardest to do those things is probably when I most need them.
