Subject: RE: Honeycrisp apples

we have a small orchard of about 60 tress, started with 150 but have been weaning out the old and deceased ones and even at 60 that is enough apples. We have Honey Crisp, Zestar, Sweet Sixteen, Empire, Harold Red, Fire Side I was always thought the HC were the best but now would have to say Zestar followed by Sweet Sixteen are my favorites just because they always produce a bigger more crisp apple. The HC seem to be on the smaller side and not as firm and they are not as hardy when it comes to staying on the tree. Later in the season the Empire is the a great apple also, but have to be patient with that one.
