It is a real decent apple.The storage atmosphere and the stage of ripeness that the apple was picked as well as the growing season /region can change the flavor a lot.Being in the produce biz I wonder if others notice the "warehouse" smell of some of the winter produce.If you have a huge cooler of various fruit/veg when you walk in it has this damp sweet to sweaty smell,,it lurks even in stacks of pallets in your truck.This smell /flavor is often what permeates apples in a chain store.Lettuce as well as cukes also pick this up.
