I was involved in Fed Crop Ins for 10+ years. Compensation was 15% of the gross premium (farmer + federal subsidy).
This is correct, before 2009 or 2010 (might have my years wrong), which is when they started limiting, or changing, the A&O rates each year. It's still lucrative, but I'm told it isn't near as good as it used to be.
