S Frisch - 3/1/2024 20:53 So apparently he has 2 herds and that's why I was confused. Gotcha. I've been hearing some crazy high prices for beef x Holstein calves for the guys east of the Mississippi. Our calves always bring lots less.

I don’t think he has two herds.   I think he’s seeing beef/dairy cross calves sell for that and it has his mind spinning.

I haven’t been paying attention lately but last year $500-600 cross calves were common once spring arrived.  I’m sure the warm weather lately has some guys anxious to get calves started to eat some “cheap” corn.
