Right now, holstein angus cross calves are selling for $800+ a head at birth locally. Why shouldn't I sell my calves from.my beef herd at birth? 800 might look awfully good when this livestock bubble bursts.
Does $800 cover the cost of carrying a cow for a year in your area?
Exactly, sell the calf in 6 months to hopefully double your gross $$$. Unless the cow is going to town as well I don’t see how it makes sense to sell day old calf’s
