Screws this isnt 1960 anymore lol. Find a screw thats labeled for code for your application. Back when I worked construction told my old head boss why we using 6" pole barn nails instead of 6" screws. Idk thought it was something with code and shear strength. Nope then after that everything from purlins to trusses was screwed in. Nice to screw though a gusset plate vs trying to pound a nail though.

We used Huskie K9 Screws. They are the best.
