We do pretty much all our gooseneck pulling with a tandem axle semi. Imo its much cheaper to operate than a pickup. Granted both the semi and our pickups are old. I wouldn’t run out and buy larger trailers to match it unless it was something I needed or a good buy. My advise would be buy a truck reasonable enough you can still hire some hauling done if there’s someone around for hire.

As far as axles go I’d be totally lost without a twin screw.
