Exactly what is "Getting up in the years"?? 65 or 85+? I'm pretty sure a bunch of guys on here would be considered geriatric by some of the younger guys. Why don't you let him decide as long as he is of sound mind and reasonable health? If he is having trouble in the winter, or you fear for his safety, then figure out a new plan with him
