Id agree on the clover, preferably one of the faster drying varieties so it will time out with the alfalfa.
Clover will take lower ph in the really sandy spots here better than alfalfa. And if it’s really light soil, don’t try to frost seed it, sand won’t move enough to get it in good soil contact.
