I saw that. Saddened me they've had a great program over the years. Knew a few guys that went through there
From what I heard on Ag Day, they haven't ended the program, just selling the cows. Students will get hands on at the large dairies. Michigan State still has their herd, but Green Meadows, a privately owned dairy, acts as an extension MSUs classroom.
As far as small dairies going out, I sure wouldn't want to milk cows again. It's been a long time since anybody who I've asked said they'd do it. | |
