Subject: RE: Home schooling curriculum

Central PA
I agree and disagree on communication. I have a few homeschooled friends who have very poor communication skills but others who can carry on a conversation better than many adults. I'm a senior and been homeschooled all through school so there is a little bias here. I've been far from isolated though. I'm very involved in church and youth group and have had a few jobs (more than just summer jobs) through high school. I understand how kids who don't have these communication opportunities never develop the skills.

There's definitely more to be learned than curriculum can teach. I've found that being homeschooled has given me extra time to spend pursuing knowledge outside of books. I've also been able to take job and educational opportunities that wouldn't be available to kids in regular school.
