Madison Co. Virginia | A friend of mine who knows the Amish a lot better than I do(none in my local area), was comparing a local man to the Amish.
In his view, the local man would come up with a profit-making idea, and then worry himself to death over it; rethinking and rehashing every single detail of how and if the idea would even work. He spent more effort trying to figure out if something was worth pursuing, than the amount of effort it would have taken to just try it.
In contrast, he said the Amish would quickly jump on any new idea, and give it a go. They'd almost fall into the opposite ditch, of throwing money-making ideas against the wall to see what sticks. | |
