600 gallons per day is less than 1/2GPM. I wouldn't put less than 1" in unless you can't get it deep enough to protect from hooves, or you have a lot of rocks, then a thicker wall or 3/4" will crush less.
15' head with 1,000' of 1" will give you just under 2gpm. 3/4" would be around 3/4gpm.
