Interesting. Have never heard of that. 

I did not even know that seeds were sold to plant trees till I looked it up. It was just a wild fruit that grew around here as a kid I knew about as I grew up. Just happened to notice there was a stand of them when I was cutting firewood a couple years ago. It is an area I have been making trails to practice my skills on my dirt bike and my wife and I ride the 4-wheeler just for a nature tour and to see deer etc. So we happened to notice a few trees had pawpaw's on them so decided to try some just for nostalgia reasons.

My MIL said as kids her mom would make pawpaw custard. We took her some (was thrilled to get them) and she was going to make some custard.
