Subject: Pawpaw fruit

Pittsburg, Kansas

Anyone eat wild pawpaw fruit? Been years since I tasted one. I didn't like them as a kid. I thought these were actually pretty good. Picked a batch and gave them to my two older brothers and some friends to try. They were thrilled to get to taste them. One of my brothers is kind of a creek rat since childhood and has done all sorts of edible wild things. They definitely are not low carb, but I make a few exceptions now and then. I had a couple.

Wife hates them. She can hardly stand a banana only if it is fairly green and an over ripe one not at all. These are kind of like an over ripe banana (when they are truly ripe) with big seeds in the middle.

These grow wild down by the creek that runs through the corner of our home place.

Edit: don't think I will buy any though..... https://www.etsy.com/listing/
