I've driven rentals before and will admit I haven't treated them as well as my own vehicles. My feeling is that others may do the same? The rental Carfaxes do seem to be more thorough. My reasoning is that ANY service through a rental company will get recorded on Carfax.

My last 'unicorn' was a 2013 Grand Caravan I purchased in 2014 with 8100 miles. It was a craigslist deal where the family wanted a buyout of their current lease(and nothing else) and was too good to pass up. 225,000 miles later I'm finally ready to give it to my kids. Most/All vehicles now are in the 50-80k miles range.and I will not be as optomistic about the next one- especially if it ends up being a rental.
