Subject: RE: Over flowing the milk tank question?

I dont know Kipps, I just heard them called that. That was one of the biggest things forcing small dairies out here. Was trucking, we had over 20 dairies in our county in 1990'. I was the last one in mid 90's. I stayed until 2019'. Writing was on the wall, only two of us on the load. The other farm went to filling tanker, was no room for us on tank. Not cost effective to send them back out to us. I sat in the middle of their two plants. I had to either get bigger or get out. I chose to conced, my sons didn't want to milk. I wasn't going to expand to only milk for less than ten years.

But they never forced me out. I felt it was the best thing for all parties. Trucker was just trying to make a living too. I felt it helped both of us out. He was able to take on more milk closer to his home base.
