C IL | One other thing - retirement accounts are like banking accounts. There are difference between personal checking, business checking, and savings accounts. But you can start one, put money in it, hold money there and start another type of account or the same type of account somewhere else.
So … you have gotten a lot of comments here suggesting different things. And if you try something like, say, a personal Roth IRA and after a couple of years decide to start putting money into self-directed 401(k), you really aren’t out much of anything. You just have multiple accounts now, like some folks have multiple accounts at multiple banks. |
