You aren't going to change the soil OM in your lifetime or maybe ever. It doesn't happen. I don't care the numbers some talk about - I've got over 30 years of soil samples every 3 years on 1000's of acres. This covers all kinds of tillage/non tillage practices/cover crops for past decade/etc. Pulling soil samples the same way every 3 years shows no movement. It does bounce around from time to time but no trending up.

Focus on getting soil to infiltrate water better, limit erosion, better tilth will help you plant sooner and eliminate or minimize sidewall compaction are some things you should focus on.
