Your son is underage and in a very low tax bracket. Unless your tax bracket is lower then his, pay the taxes.

Under 18 doesn’t even pay social security.

Instead of paying for your kids college, pay your kid in a lower tax bracket and let him pay for college.

$7000 per year for 6 years will put a pretty good dent in tuition. That’s $6300 in social security savings alone. If your in an upper tax bracket, you could easily save $17,000.
