Personally, I think you need to keep hay/pasture on the steep ground and farm the flat ground. Second, if you think bailing 25 acres in small square bales is a pain, how do you think someone will feel about harvesting a 25 acre steeply sloped field for you?
Maybe I'm not defining "steep" properly: it's definitely uncomfortable to drive something topheavy across the side of the hill, but all but a couple of corners aren't _that_ steep. This pictures is looking at the side of the hill from up on the other side of the hill on the larger field. It's hard to see the slope, but it should give some idea.
The neighbor who row crops doesn't seem to be phased by much, I doubt he would have suggested soybeans if he wasn't confident he could harvest it.
