Subject: RE: Beginner questions about soybeans

Wheelersburg and Lancaster, Ohio
I have some steep hills and grow continuous corn. Here corn provides much better erosion control than beans. Even light tillage corn is better then notill and cover crop beans. Hard to keep an older bean head on the ground on steep hills also. With my smaller 30-40 acre fields it’s almost impossible to keep deer from eating 20 ++ bushels per acre beans. Corn is harder to measure the deer losses. Only down side to corn is having to handle so many more bushels.
