To bad, you didn't have a rotary rake.
I have a Kuhnn 300 and you can rake it and it fluffs it up so that the wind and sun goes threw it and dries way faster, than a bar rake.
I would rake it twice , as the first time it fluffs it up and knocks the water off of it and then the second day or so I rake it to dry.
I heard that anything over 1/2 inch, will start to take the protein out of it.
