West Central Illinois | No pretty small operator here so don't have access to a tedder or wrapper, i usually have my rounds custom baled but can't get anyone to do it this year this early so i'm going to put up around 1000 square bales off of this hopefully, maybe a bit less. I like feeding small squares easier to figure out how much i'm giving my fats instead of pitch forking off a round bale or worse , feeding it free choice in a ring.
Would trying to fluff it with my wheel rake do anything similar to a tedder? I'm not sure i've ever seen one go down the road in this area.
I knew there was rain chances coming but i figured was worth the risk rather than let the crop mature, and faster i get first cut off the sooner i can get a 2nd and 3rd cuts. Was wanting to use this stuff for fat cattle lot but this first cut might end up as cow hay, alfalfa seems pretty lucrative this year in the feedlot as far as cheapening up a fat cattle ration those DDG's are dang high
